welcome!
I am in my fifth year of teaching, and the current (2013-2014) term will be my fourth full year at Berkley High School. I am currently finishing a Master of Arts in Educational Technology degree from Michigan State University, prior to which I earned an undergraduate degree in English and journalism and secondary education from the very same university. GO GREEN! GO WHITE! I did my student teaching just down the road from Berkley at Ferndale High School.
I am proud to be part of the Berkley community!
I am a believer in the idea that education does not begin and end with the bells; it is a contiguous process that extends from school, to the home and into the community. As such, I make an attempt to remain as connected and available as possible to ensure the continuation of learning beyond the classroom. Please feel free to follow my classroom blog and/or my twitter account, or please send me a good ol’ e-mail if you wish to get in contact. I’m excited for this year of possibilities.
This year I will be teaching journalism/the Spectator, English 10 and Honors English 11.
Below are some photos taken this summer during my month with MAET in Galway, Ireland. I am thinking about going back for the refresher course next summer.
